Compare Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card Vs. Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card

Both Flipkart Axis Bank and Amazon Pay ICICI Bank offer cashback benefits across the respective partner brands. With these cards, you can earn cashback of up to 5%. But the range varies. Some key observations on the cashback structure of the cards are:
(i) While the Flipkart Axis Card offers 5% cashback to all users on Flipkart purchases, Amazon ICICI offers the highest cashback only to Amazon Prime members; non-Prime members get a 3% cashback. Besides, the major factor for earning the accelerated category on the Amazon card—the Amazon Prime membership—is not offered complimentary with the card. Thus, the benefits of the Amazon card can be best utilized by users owning the Prime membership, whereas all users, irrespective of whether they are a Flipkart Plus or Premium member or not, can maximize the benefits of Flipkart shopping with the Axis card. In some cases, this might not go well with Flipkart Plus members, as they don’t get any additional benefits on the card, but 5% cashback is still a good benefit.
(ii)  Even with a non-biased cashback percentage for all users,  Flipkart card comes with its own share of cons. Post the April 2024 devaluation, the base cashback percentage on the Flipkart Axis card was reduced to 1% from 1.5% offered earlier. This brings both cards to the same level for users looking for a decent cashback percentage on general purchases.
(iii) The Axis credit card comes with a long list of exclusions from its rewards program that cover some everyday categories like utilities and wallet reloads. Thus, the Amazon credit card outshines here, as users can earn 2% cashback on recharges and bill payments done via Amazon, including mobile, broadband, and DTH recharges, Amazon Pay wallet loading, electricity bill payments, water supply bill payments, gas cylinder bills, etc. Though the benefit is restricted to Amazon Pay, it is still a better deal, as users can maximize the benefits easily, as the cashback with this card is also credited to their Amazon Pay wallet.

To sum up:

Flipkart Axis has an edge by offering 5% cashback to all users.
Amazon offers 5% cashback to Amazon Prime members, but other users get 3%.
Amazon ICICI includes utility bill payments in its rewards program, which Flipkart Axis excludes.
Flipkart Axis Bank offers a higher cashback of 4% on its five partner merchants. Amazon offers just 2%, but the list of partners is long here.
